ORLANDO, Florida., March 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Clarience Technologies and Wabash have launched a new technology alliance focused on trailer applications, including new advanced connectivity applications that will be essential as electric and autonomous vehicles come to market. As a first step, advanced Road Ready trailer telematics systems will become standard equipment on all Wabash dealer stock trailers.
MichiganClarience Technologies is the parent company of Truck-Lite, the North American leader in LED lighting solutions for commercial transportation, as well as advanced Road Ready telematics, ECCO safety systems, DAVCO filtration solutions and several other technology brands.
“Deep collaboration between transportation leaders will bring to life the bold ideas that will shape the industry of tomorrow,” said Nada Jiddou, Executive Vice President of Clarience Technologies and General Manager of Road Ready. “Wabash has been an industry leader who understands how technology will shape the future of transportation, and we are excited to work with them as we envision the future together. »
While Wabash has been an industry leader for decades, the company has recently focused on providing pragmatic solutions to move everything in the transportation ecosystem, from the first to the last mile.
“Collaborating with Clarience Technologies reinforces our vision to be the innovator of connected solutions in the transportation, logistics and distribution sectors,” said Dustin Smith, Chief Strategy Officer, Wabash. “Their commitment to advanced connected technologies has not wavered throughout the development of their products. We believe enabling our customers to succeed with smarter, data-driven solutions is a key first step and contribution to leveraging our advanced R&D ecosystem and focused customer focus.
Road Ready brings factory-installed connectivity to Wabash
As part of this agreement, Road Ready has advanced telematics the material will be installed on all Wabash dealer stock units with customers receiving a 90-day trial subscription for the Road Ready trailer telematics activated on delivery.
Road Ready offers asset tracking capabilities for fleets at different levels. Map View offers simplified and detailed map views powered by Google Maps technology, while Asset/Trailer View allows customers to drill down to view an exact breadcrumb trail of a particular asset along its journey. Fleets can customize how often each fleet asset communicates its location status. Fleets can also configure custom landmarks to create geofences for established routes, triggering alerts to help fleets protect their assets and customer cargo.
Road Ready is “advanced” trailer telematics because it goes far beyond asset tracking, delivering actionable insights to actively operating trailer fleets. The information is drawn from data generated by a variety of sensor types installed throughout the trailer, allowing fleets to have a direct view of everything from temperature, weight distribution, volumetric load capacity, condition back door and more.
A key Road Ready differentiator is its LogIQ™ smart partner network, which combines smart data generated from a number of trailer components into a single data stream. This gives fleets a complete view of trailer health conditions in one view while avoiding having to jump portals with multiple connections. Road Ready’s LogIQ Smart Partners include eleven of the biggest names in transportation technology, including
- RightWeigh, Inc.
- Weigh in air
- Digital ConMet
- FAS Holland
- Hyundai Translead
Fleets can access Road Ready through its FleetViz fleet management platform, a user-friendly platform that makes fleet data easy to understand and use. FleetViz is also mobile-optimized so customers can access data virtually anywhere.
For the Wabash dealership, this new alliance brings an industry-leading factory-installed smart trailer offering. Road Ready is the most comprehensive trailer connectivity solution on the market today, and Clarience Technologies has continued to invest in the Road Ready business to ensure its solutions remain the best in the industry.
Connectivity enables electric and autonomous technologies
With electric and autonomous technologies set to transform commercial transportation over the next decade, a facilitator of these technologies is connectivity. Customers are looking for vendors who invest in today’s technologies, but also understand how their technology will evolve in the future. This alliance brings together two partners who share a common vision, and both partners intend to be leaders in the transportation industry in the future.
Recently, Road Ready has invested resources to accelerate the integration of truck and trailer data. Last week, Road Ready introduced two new features: cloud-based API integration to allow customers to view truck and trailer data in a single interface, and Virtual Tether to create a V2V data link between the truck and the trailer which allows to communicate to the drivers regarding the health status of the trailer. .
Industry Leaders Join Forces to Accelerate the Pace of Change Adoption
Whether predictions about the future of the commercial transportation industry come a few years or a few decades away, technology will continue to play a bigger role in transportation. Electric, autonomous and connected technologies are accelerating change in this industry faster than many thought possible and today’s leaders must change too or they risk being left behind.
“Our collective success will require us to collaborate in ways we have never experienced before,” Jiddou said. “Those who lead invest in the right partners. With WabashI think that’s exactly what we did.”
